Island information

Cofru is a beautiful island located in the Ionian sea and has been attracting tourist since the 1960′s. For many people the small holiday resorts dotted around the island are the first choice when looking for a holiday on this pretty island, for others the town itself offers the ideal location with its selection of classy cafes, delightful restaurants and late night entertainment options.

Corfu Town

The town is divided up into two distinctive areas, the new and the old town. At the center of the old town is the Esplanade which is the largest square in Europe, at one end is the beach and at the other a Sunday bandstand. Along by the beach are some attractive cafes where you can sit and enjoy a morning coffee before exploring the narrow alleyways dotted with various small shops selling all kinds of gifts and Jewelry. The new town has some top end boutiques and the market offering the locals daily fresh produce. The town has a great choice of restaurants, fast food, Gyros bars along some good quality places to wine and dine. Corfu town gives the advantage of being in a town environment with easy access to many of the islands lovely beaches.

Paleokastritsa – North west coast

This is one of the most beautiful holiday resorts on the island and has been attracting visitors from the UK for many years. Located at the bottom of a long winding mountain road, it offers a selection of delightful bays and some breathtaking scenery. The area offers some lovely walks along the cliffs and through the forests. The beaches are a mix of sand/shingle, with beautifully clear aqua sea for perfect swimming and snorkeling. Through the resort are a number of tourist shops, mini markets, bars and a great selection of tavernas. To sit early evening in one of the beach side tavernas as the sun goes down is a pleasure, a nice cold beer followed by a traditional meal with local wine.  A true pleasure.

Kassiopi – North east coast

The beautiful small holiday town of Kassiopi has all the ingredients to make your holiday an enjoyable experience. With high mountains as its backdrop and small sheltered bays it really is a delightful part of Corfu. The beaches are mainly pebbles, the sea a clear aquamarine. Safe swimming and great snorkeling can be enjoyed, with a good choice of tavernas on the beaches to keep you fed and watered. The town has a main square which is the hub of the village, also a pretty small harbour where to enjoy a drink or dinner. The village offers many shops and cafes, along with a good choice of eating houses. After dark you will not be disappointed with its selection of bars playing the latest sounds, then as dark falls a number of clubs go into the early hours. Kassiopi is a fairly chilled out holiday village, with a good mix of life when you feel the need.

Kavos – South east coast

Kavos is the young and lively holiday resort of Corfu. By day enjoy the long sandy beach offers a variety of water sports, sun loungers with parasols, snack bars and a great selection of Tavernas. The main tourists here are British, which means most eating establishments offer a mix of Greek local food and English fare. There are enough bars to keep everybody happy and as night falls the clubs come to life until dawn. There is a big selection of tourist shops, mini markets and lots of places to eat & drink. If your idea of a good holiday is 24/7 party time, this is the resort for you.

Agios Stefanos – North west coast

This small upmarket beach resort is perfect for a chill out holiday. Attractive beach with some good quality beach tavernas where you can enjoy a good lunch or dinner. The sandy beach offers all the normal facilities including sunbeds, parasols and a selection of water sports. A number of bars and a selection of tavernas basically make up the resort, come to Agios Stefanos for a quiet holiday in very pretty surroundings.

San Stephanos – North West Coast

Delightful small holiday resort situated on the north west coast. The big attraction is the sweep of golden sand that sits at the bottom of the cliffs, along with the friendly atmosphere of this very Greek holiday resort. Most accommodations are operated by the local owners and the tavernas feature a mainly Greek menus offering local specialties. A lovely beach resort that will suit those looking for a quiet holiday in a natural setting.
